Creatives, businesses and organisations across the region are being encouraged to sign up for free as the South West Creative Directory continues to grow.
The Creative Corner’s new South West Creative Directory and website are now live, giving the region’s creative professionals a dedicated home online and an easier way to be discovered by the businesses, organisations and government agencies looking for their skills.
The refreshed website and creative directory follow a launch event at Bungalow Neighbourhood Social in Dunsborough, where around 100 members of the South West’s creative community gathered to celebrate the milestone and hear from four local creative practitioners as part of the evening’s Four on the Floor speaker series.
Guests heard from Brooke Thomas, Producer at Brooke Thomas Productions; Ben Lindberg, YouTuber at The Clay Mason; Eloise Williams, who leads Marketing and Social Media Management at Syde Studio; and musician Mitch Baker of Mitch Baker Music, who each shared their own stories of building a creative career in the South West.
“The turnout on the night said everything about how ready this region was for something like the Creative Directory,” said Anita Pettit, Manager of Creative Corner. “To have around 100 people in the room, and to hear Brooke, Ben, Eloise and Mitch speak so openly about their own creative journeys, was a really special way to bring this project to life.”
With the new website now live, the directory will continue to grow in the coming months, built around a simple idea: connecting the region’s creatives with one another, and with the businesses, organisations and government agencies who need their skills.
“Getting listed is completely free, and it takes just a few minutes,” Ms Pettit said. “Whether you’re a photographer, designer, filmmaker, artist or musician, this is your chance to be found. And for anyone who wants to go a step further and support what we’re building, becoming a Creative Corner member helps us keep growing the directory and everything else we do for creatives in this region.”
Joining the South West Creative Directory as a Subscriber is free and includes a listing in the directory. Creatives wanting to become more involved can become a Creative Corner Member for $110 annually, which adds invitations and member pricing to Creative Corner events, workshops and programs, AGM voting rights, and the opportunity to join the Committee.
The South West Creative Directory was made possible with support from our major funding partner City of Busselton, South West Development Commission, Creative Tech Village, Rio Tinto and with development and delivery support from The Box and EUSO Digital.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our major funding partner City of Busselton, South West Development Commission, Creative Tech Village and Rio Tinto for backing this project, to The Box and EUSO Digital for their development and delivery support, and to the team at Bungalow Neighbourhood Social for hosting such a memorable night,” Ms Pettit said. “Their support for the creative industries is what makes projects like this possible.”
