I didn't start Rift Digital because I thought the world needed another digital agency. I started it because I watched people close to me get burned by one.
Small business owners I knew were paying large monthly retainers to digital agencies that ran Google Ads with marginal results and held their websites hostage — they couldn't change a photo or post a blog without paying for it. When the agencies did produce content, it was poor. And when they wanted to leave, they discovered just how trapped they were.
That experience lit a fire.
I rebuilt one business's website on a modern cloud platform and showed the owner how easy it was to manage it themselves. They saved thousands of dollars. Then I tackled their social media — they had over 100 branded profiles, and every scheduling tool charged per profile, making it unaffordable. I found a better way. They saved thousands more.
That's when it clicked: I can do this for every small business owner who's been told that digital has to be complicated and expensive.
It doesn't.
The name is deliberate. A rift is a break — a split from the way things have always been done.
