Chanel Bowen is a regional, disabled producer through her company Norfolk Pictures. Chanel is currently releasing her debut feature documentary, HARD AS PUCK with director Isaac Elliott and Producer, Noel Smyth which won the Audience Choice Award at Melbourne International Film Festival 2026.

Chanel is gearing towards production on TRUE BLUE a documentary following the final years of Australian singer/songwriter, John Williamson’s performing days. Chanel is drawn to stories which encompass her own communities; women, disability and regional and continues to develop her slate based on this grounding.

Chanel was awarded the Regional to Global Australians in Film and Screenwork’s Internship in LA for 2022, allowing her to expand her producing experience with Animal Logic Entertainment and Truant Pictures in the USA. Chanel was recognised by Screen Producers Australia (SPA) as a ‘One to Watch’ and was mentored throughout 2023 by Goalpost Pictures founder, Rosemary Blight. For 2026, Chanel is excited to be selected for the SBS x SPA Practitioners Program which supports underrepresented practitioners to attend SPA-run events across the year.
